Our call to love our neighbor takes many forms—some familiar, some evolving. We care deeply about the needs of our community and respond in ways that are compassionate, thoughtful, and grounded in relationship. Through long-standing ministries and newer efforts, our congregation remains committed to showing up—sometimes with food or a shawl, other times with presence, listening, or shared learning.
We also continue to find new ways to connect with our broader community—through partnerships, advocacy, and shared meals. These emerging opportunities reflect a growing desire to widen our welcome and deepen our impact. Every act of care—big or small—is part of God’s healing work in the world, and we’re grateful to take part in it together.
Since 2004, members of Weatherly have created over 600 shawls for individuals going through difficult times or celebrating meaningful moments. These handmade gifts have traveled across the country—and even across the world—as reminders of comfort, care, and connection.
Twice a year, our Deacon Council leads a churchwide effort to provide food bags for students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School over Spring and Fall Break. Each bag includes nine days of breakfast, lunch, and snacks to help support families during the time school meals are unavailable.
This group gathers monthly during the school year to share fellowship and lead a range of outreach projects—from Christmas gifts for foster children and seniors to grief care bags and practical donations for those experiencing transitions.
