Weatherly Heights Baptist Church

Sermon Texts

This Sunday is the final Sunday before Christmas Day. We will light the love candle in the Advent wreath and hear the angel’s message to name him Jesus.

Our journey to Christmas Day continues this Sunday. We will meet the preacher from the desert, John the Baptist. We will also observe the Lord’s Supper.

Next Sunday is Advent Sunday, the beginning of our journey to Christmas Day. Our Advent theme this year is “Unto Us a Child Is Born.”

The death of Jesus on the cross is seen as the world’s most selfless act, an innocent man suffering on behalf of others. Why did it happen?

Creation at Peace

The choral anthem, “Creation Will Be at Peace,” is a favorite of many at Weatherly. We sing it every year at Lovefeast. It comes from the prophecy of Isaiah. It is a beautiful, hopeful passage, a message we really need in these waning days of the pandemic.

We all want to know. Philosophers and theologians have speculated. The world’s religions have their beliefs. Is there really life after death? What can scientific people believe about the afterlife?
